Hobbies and Interests

A considerable amount of my free time I commit to sports of different kinds. Most regularily I play squash, work out in the gym, go running and swimming. I also play Golf, these days mostly at the Vikings Golf Course in Canberra. Being born in Innsbruck, I grew up with the surrounding mountains and as such I love to ski.

I further like to travel and being in academia certainly helps to combine this passion with my work. As I live in Australia now, travelling becomes a bit more engaging, but I still try to get the buzz of bigger cities (Sydney, Melbourne) on the weekends. I am passionate about design, managed the website of my former institute (www.deri.ie) and have been editor of the institute's newsletter. I participated in the Allgäu Orient Rallye 2010 and managed the online presentation of our team. More information on this endeavour can be found at www.bakshish-austria.com.
